College of Islamic Sciences

The Faculty of Islamic Sciences was established in 2008. The duration of the study is four years and it grants a bachelor's degree in Islamic sciences. Graduates of the branches (scientific and literary) are accepted within the proportions determined by the college as a capacity and approved by the university. The college aims to prepare educational and scientific staff specialized in Islamic studies and focuses on the scientific and systematic study of Islam and its civilization in accordance with the rules of meticulous scientific research and consistent with the greatness of Islam and its scientific status and the greatness of the civilization achieved by the Islamic experience over fifteen centuries. The college emphasizes the study of Islam within its ancient origins and its universal lofty principles away from national, sectarian, partisan and factional conflicts and the adoption of the values of moderation. It also focuses on building a strong Islamic personality through the close and scientific reconnection between the individual and the Islamic faith and between Islam and society away from all ideologies of discrimination and racism. The College offers knowledge that serves the building of a strong and unified Iraq free from all the deviations that cause the deterioration of societies and the decline of development and prosperity. The Islamic thought and civilization is an important factor in the accumulation of knowledge on culture, beliefs, the values of behavior and social and political systems. Our college contributes in carrying the nation's civilization and cultural heritage to successive generations.

Mission of the College

  1. The college seeks to prepare a staff qualified to complete their higher studies in the fields of Islamic Sharia sciences, Arabic language and issues of Islamic thought and civilization.
  2. The output of our faculty provides a teaching staff for Islamic education in secondary schools in Iraq, and others working in institutions and research centers as researchers and scholars.
  3. The college trains a scientific staff capable of studying precious manuscripts.
  4. The college is a workshop for the production of research that is considered a serious contribution to the project of knowledge Islamization and the construction of contemporary renaissance thought.
