Advanced Studies Division

In 2013-2014 higher studies were established in the departments of Quranic Studies and Jurisprudence and its principles at Islamic Sciences Faculty. The plan of admission is divided into (14) students for public channel and (3) students for private outlay. (140) students from all Iraqi universities competed for these seats. According to the Ministry’s instructions, (17) students were admitted, they increased to request another expansion, bringing the total number to 18. The college awards a master’s degree in Sharia, Islamic sciences and a major in specialization, according to the title of the researcher’s thesis. The Division has obtained the approval of the Ministry for the opening of higher Studies (Masters) for the Arabic Language Section, where a degree is awarded in the language and literature of the Qur’an in 2015-2016 and the assistant Dean for scientific affairs is a responsible of higher studies division.

Advanced Studies Staff Assignment:

  1. Supervising the application of higher studies who wish to enroll in a master’s or doctoral study in the scientific fields of the faculty departments.
  2.  The implementation of the mechanism for admission of postgraduate students by means of channels prepared by the Ministry of higher Education and Scientific Research and by the departments of the College.
  3. Supervise the competitive examination for postgraduate applicants and in cooperation with the departments of faculty.
  4. Follow-up to the administrative affairs of accepted graduate students in terms of the initiation and completion date, extension of the duration of the study in case of necessity, and many administrative matters facilitate the task, support and purchase of research materials, etc.
  5. Supervision of the postgraduate examinations for the preparatory year.
  6.  Establishment of committees to approve research plans for postgraduate students and committees to follow up the research project for students by the scientific departments.
  7. After the completion of the study period, the preparation of the research, the student receives his or her thesis or dissertation, then, Advanced Studies Unit will transmit it to the linguistic and scientific evaluators , if recommended, a panel discussion of the student is formed and after the discussion committee accepts the thesis or dissertation as part of the graduation requirements, the graduation letter will be issued after its approval By the College Council.
  8.  To issue documents for students who hold (MA/PhD ) and also provide the student with the validity of the certificate he has received.
  9.  Follow-up of higher studies students who have been studying outside the country in a fellowship or scholarship to obtain (MA/PhD) or who have research missions for who continue to study (Masters/Doctors), and postgraduate students (Masters) began on 20/10/2014 after the university letter was issued.
