The College of Islamic Sciences is of great importance, especially in the University of Karbala, in the holy city of Karbala, because of the city’s religious and cultural status, as a centre of religious and scientific treasures. The College has three departments: Department of Quranic Studies, Department of Arabic Language and the Department of Fiqh and its Origins. Further, postgraduate studies (The Master’s degree) have been opened in Sharia and Islamic Studies as well as Arabic Language and Literature.
