Under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Arabic Language, Assistant Professor Dr. Safaa Hussein Latif, the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Islamic Sciences held a panel discussion titled “A linguistic and interpretive reading of the Qur’an regarding the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)..”

And it was administered by the teaching assistant in the Department of Arabic Language, Dr. Haider Shallal Al-Kuraiti.

The discussion seminar that was held at ten o’clock on Tuesday morning, corresponding to 08/03/2022, and at the Imam Al-Hussein (peace be upon him) hall in the college

In it, the lecturer in the Department of Arabic Language, Prof. Dr. Wafaa Abbas Fayyad, presented the book of Prof. Ali Rahim Al-Helou, in which he dealt with an interpretive approach, searching for the authenticity of the verse: 217 of Surat Al-Baqara.

Dr. Al-Helou explained in the paragraphs of his book that the verse, according to the visions of a group of commentators, does not speak exclusively about what was said about the reason for its revelation regarding the secret service of Abdullah bin Jahsh. Peace) and his family from Medina to Mecca and ending with the eternal incident of Tuff, and he reinforced this vision with multiple linguistic, explanatory and historical evidence.

The discussion session was enriched with valuable inputs from professors and students of the college.
