Discussion of a master’s thesis at the College of Islamic Sciences on the concept of dialogical engagement in interpreting “Mawahib al-Rahman”

The defense of a master’s thesis titled “Dialogical Engagement in Interpreting Mawahib al-Rahman: A Discursive Study” was conducted at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala. The defense took place in the Imam Hussein (AS) Hall at the college.

The thesis aims to explore the concept of dialogical engagement specifically in interpreting Mawahib al-Rahman, and to connect it with contemporary studies on the communicative process. It also aims to evaluate the opinions mentioned in the thesis and examine their compatibility with other opinions found in books on grammar, interpretation, and Quranic sciences. The objective is to approach the apparent meaning by considering the principles of estimation, interpretation, available evidence, context, and understanding the intended meaning.

The defense committee was composed of the following members:

  2. Assistant Professor Dr. Hamed Badr Abdul Mohsen from the University of Babylon, College of Islamic Sciences, serving as a member.
  3. Professor Dr. Ahmed Hassan Mansour from the University of Karbala, College of Islamic Sciences, serving as a member.
  4. Assistant Professor Dr. Maali Hashim Ali from the University of Karbala, College of Islamic Sciences, serving as a member and supervisor.
