A delegation from the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala visited His Eminence, the religious authority Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Taqi al-Mudarris (may his shadow endure), at his office in the holy city of Karbala.
The Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Dr. Mohammed Hussein Aboud, stated that they discussed the principles of authentic Islam, which is advocated by the Quranic approach and its role in consolidating the principles of social peace.
During the meeting, His Eminence emphasized that the responsibility of shaping society’s culture primarily lies with both the university and the seminary. He pointed out that the faculties of Islamic Sciences, which focus on the study of Islamic sciences in the fields of Quranic and Hadith studies, as well as jurisprudence and its principles, serve as a bridge between the academic path and the seminary path, aiming for cultural integration. This is achieved through preserving Islamic authenticity in universities to benefit from the achievements of the noble Islamic religion, as well as advancing the seminaries through the development of their methods, thus achieving a synthesis between authenticity and progress.
