The Committee for the Revival of Islamic Rituals at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, organized its festival entitled “Walid al-Ka’bah and the Translator of the Quran” to commemorate the birth anniversary of Imam Amir al-Mu’minin, peace be upon him, on the 13th of Rajab. The festival aims to commemorate the occasion of the birth of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him, who was born with qualifications indicating his preparation to carry the message and assume responsibilities after the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family.
It also sheds light on aspects of his blessed personality to contribute to the promotion of Alawite religious culture in the context of the evolving era and contemporary requirements. The festival included a recitation from the noble Quran and a speech by Professor Dr. Mohammed Hussein al-Ta’i, the Dean, emphasizing the importance of establishing human values, which Imam Ali, peace be upon him, exemplified, and urging students to spread and practice them.
It also featured poetic recitations and intellectual insights into the personality of Imam Ali, along with providing Alawite teachings. The festival concluded with student activities (songs) and the honoring of reciters and poets.
