Under the sponsorship of the President of Karbala University, Professor Dr. Basim Khaleel Nael Al-Saedi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Professor Dr. Mohammed Hussein Aboud Al-Ta’i, the Committee for the Revival of Islamic Rituals at the College of Islamic Sciences, in collaboration with the Al-Multaqa Al-Ilmi Wal-Deen Foundation, organized its festival titled “The Birth of the Mahdi: A Awaited Dawn for Salvation.”
The festival aimed to commemorate the birth of Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance). It began with the recitation of clear verses from the Holy Quran by the reciter Haider Zamal, followed by a speech by the Dean of the College, in which he emphasized the sublime meanings embodied in the Muhammadan-Alawi-Husseini message, which is an extension of the Mahdi message. Through its radiance in the world, the light of guidance, mercy, and divine kindness has shone. This was followed by developmental ideas for the believers in the Mahdi (presented by Professor Yahya Al-Mousawi) and a poetic ode by the poet Abdul Hussein Al-Jubouri.
Afterwards, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Nazim Al-Mufaraji, the head of the Quran Sciences Department, was honored with a shield and a certificate of appreciation on the occasion of the department’s first-place ranking in the Iraqi national classification. The top three students from each of the three departments in the college (Quran Sciences, Jurisprudence and its Principles, Arabic Language) were also honored.
A draw was conducted to announce the winners of the electronic Mahdi competition, which had been launched earlier, and 10 of them were awarded prizes. The festival concluded with poetic chants by student poets from the college, celebrating this blessed occasion.
