The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences, in collaboration with the Department of Jurisprudence and its Principles, organized a memorial festival titled “Al-Zahra: Our Role Model and Guiding Path.”
The festival began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem and a moment of silence to honor the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, Gaza, and Lebanon.
The Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hussein Abboud Al-Taie, delivered a welcoming speech emphasizing the importance of emulating Lady Fatimah Al-Zahra (peace be upon her) as a leading example in life. This was followed by a profound lecture on her esteemed status in Islam and her virtuous life, delivered by Assistant Prof. Dr. Mujib Saad.
The event included elegiac poetry recitations highlighting the tribulations of Lady Fatimah Al-Zahra and a documentary film that shed light on her noble life and the sorrowful story of her martyrdom.
The festival concluded with religious competitions for students, with monetary prizes awarded to the winners.
