The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences organized a scientific seminar titled “The Role of Universities in Combating Violence Against Women.”
The seminar was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Rahi Al-Zaidi and focused on defining the concept of violence against women, clarifying its various forms, and highlighting its negative impacts on individuals and society. It emphasized the role of universities in addressing this issue by integrating concepts of women’s rights and equality into academic curricula, as well as organizing specialized seminars and workshops with expert participation.
The seminar concluded with recommendations, including the continuous organization of such workshops on a regular basis, the establishment of clear policies within universities to combat all forms of discrimination or violence, and enhancing collaboration with civil society organizations to broaden the impact of these efforts
