Abstract

Since engaging in it is a great honor, I made researching it an opportunity to gain something of that great honor, and a starting point for getting closer to God Almighty, and from here I chose to study ((Linguistic reasoning in the books of readings of the sixth century AH)), and the assistant professor graciously helped me in choosing this topic. Dr. Rafah Abdul-Hussein Mahdi. I had the honor of having her as a supervisor for my thesis, but she apologized for that due to health conditions. Supervision was entrusted to the assistant professor, Dr. Faiza Tha’ban Mansi Al-Musawi. She was the one who was credited with completing this work and producing it in the most beautiful way. I pray to God for their health and well-being. The Qur’anic readings were enjoyed. With the interest of scholars in various eras, they devoted themselves to studying its aspects and deriving Arabic sciences from it. My study was specialized in the books of recitations of the sixth century AH, which distinguished itself from other centuries by the abundance of books of Qur’anic recitations, of which fourteen books were counted. It is worth noting that the scholars of this century differed in what between them; As this discrepancy was distributed in several aspects, some of which spoke about the arguments for those readings, their reasons, and the reasons for disagreement in them. The most important of these books are: Collection and Orientation for What We Only Recite Yaqub, by Abu Al-Hasan Al-Ra’ini Al-Ishbili (539 AH), Tahseel Al-Hamzatain, by Abu Al-Asbagh Al-Samati Al-Ishbili (560 AH), and Mafatih Songs in the Recitations and Meanings, by Abu Al-Ala Al-Kirmani (563 AH), and Al-Mawhid fi The Faces of Recitations and Their Reasons, by Ibn Abi Maryam Al-Shirazi (565 AH). As for the remaining books, they were books that specialized in mentioning reading only.
The nature of the research required that it be divided into three chapters, a preface, preceded by an introduction, and the research was concluded with a conclusion that included the findings of the study. It is worth noting that I did not make the semantic level a separate chapter due to the lack of linguistic explanation, but rather I mentioned it as a lexical-contextual meaning only, and I mentioned it in the phonological levels. Morphology and grammar, and as for the introduction, I explained the concept of linguistic reasoning linguistically and terminologically, while mentioning an overview of the scholars of the sixth century AH.
In the first semester, I studied phonetic issues in three sections, the first on assimilation, the second on inflection, and the third was devoted to the topic of investigating hamzah and facilitating it.
The second chapter was entitled Morphological Reasoning, in which morphological issues were studied and it was divided into four sections. The first of them was devoted to research: what was read with dhammah, fatha, and kasra from verbs, and the reason for that. The second was devoted to researching what was read with dhammah, fatha, and kasra from nouns. As for the third, it was devoted to research in reasoning by mitigation. And emphasis, and the fourth was devoted to researching what was read in the passive voice and the reason for that.
As for the third chapter, it was devoted to research at the grammatical level, and was divided into four sections. In the first, I talked about what was read in the nominative, accusative, and genitive nouns and what was read in the nominative and accusative from verbs. In the second, I talked about what was read by deletion, and in the third, I talked about what was read in the masculine and feminine, and I talked in The fourth is about what was read individually and plurally and the reason for that. The linguistic approach that I followed in writing the chapters of the thesis is the descriptive and analytical approach, which is based on collecting the research material contained in the books of readings of the sixth century AH, and the linguistic reasons in them, then analyzing and studying them, and stating the opinions of grammarians about them.
As for the method followed by the researcher in writing the thesis, it is that I begin by mentioning the Qur’anic text, then mention the linguistic reasons mentioned in the books of readings of the sixth century AH, and I mention the argument for that reading, then I mention the opinions of the ancient linguists, and the aspects of disagreement and consensus in them, then I move on to the books of interpretation, so I mention The opinions of its authors on the studied issue, and I concluded the issue by mentioning the opinions of the hadith scholars. My choice of texts was selective, based on choosing examples in which the reasoning was clearly and explicitly stated in the books of readings of the sixth century AH.
In conclusion, I say: God knows that I have spared no effort or time to complete this work, and that this work is nothing but a human effort, not devoid of shortcomings and errors, as stated in the revelation: ((Our Lord, do not hold us accountable if we forget or make a mistake)) [Al-Baqarah: 286] If I succeed in it, it is by God’s grace, grace, and direction, and if I am wrong, then I am only a human being who is right and wrong. I ask God Almighty to grant us sincerity in word and deed and to make this knowledge pure for His honorable face, and to accept it with goodness. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds.
