The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences organized an honoring ceremony for veiled and academically outstanding female students, coinciding with the blessed birth anniversary of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him).
The ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Muhammad Hussein Aboud Al-Taie. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of emulating Imam Ali (peace be upon him) as a divine light born in the sacred Kaaba, stressing adherence to noble Islamic values.
The ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including the legal specialist Ibtisam Al-Khayyat, head of the Women’s and Children’s Section at the Governor’s Office, and Professor Dr. Yasmin Al-Ghanami, head of the Women’s Affairs Division at the University of Karbala.
The event featured various segments, including a poem praising Imam Ali (peace be upon him) recited by Dr. Salam Al-Rubaie, as well as an awareness lecture on the significance of the hijab and its role in society, delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ayat Abdul-Wahhab and Sheikh Dr. Ibrahim Hussein Al-Ashtar. Additionally, the inspiring success story of the distinguished student Shuhada Shamil Muhammad was presented.
At the conclusion of the event, the College Administration honored the students with copies of the Holy Quran, headscarves, bouquets of flowers, and certificates of appreciation. This was part of an initiative to support community participation and reinforce institutional values, aligning with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education / Women’s Affairs Section.
