The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, organized an online seminar titled Justice and Equality and Their Impact on Family Solidarity. This seminar falls within the pillar of participation and institutional reform and was delivered by Dr. Khudair Mukhaif Faris.
The seminar aimed to define justice and equality both linguistically and terminologically, highlighting the key pillars of justice, including equality as an ethical and moral principle. It covered various rights such as education, healthcare, employment, and financial rights.
The second focus of the seminar was family solidarity, its concept, and its significance in Islam. It explored notable examples of family solidarity and its impact on the stability of both families and society. The session sought to reinforce fundamental principles of justice, discuss their application in family life, and enhance social awareness to improve family conditions through justice and equality.
Key Recommendations from the Seminar:
- Islamic teachings and civilization aim, through religious texts and practical examples, to establish a faithful society governed by divine law, where justice and solidarity prevail.
- Justice and solidarity are essential foundations for building a cohesive society in which every individual feels valued and responsible for themselves and their family.
- A Muslim society should not struggle to implement the principles of solidarity, as religious texts inherently link these values to faith in Allah Almighty.
