Abstract

There is no doubt that the science of interpretation is of great importance. This is due to the constant need to understand the Holy Qur’an, and to explain its precise meanings and profound concepts, due to the sophisticated teachings, wisdom, rulings, stories, and sermons it contains, and its comprehensiveness that brought the highest level of clarification and eloquence. It was necessary to stop and contemplate to know its purposes, and with the expansion of this knowledge, the methods and approaches of interpretation appeared and multiplied. Its colors and schools, according to the sciences relied upon. The imams of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, had a prominent and distinctive role in interpreting the Qur’an. They, peace be upon them, are the heirs of the Book and the bearers of its sciences and knowledge. They are the justice of the Qur’an and the weight of the speaker who is commanded to adhere to it. Their interpretive narrations drew general lines and established foundations. And solid rules for a clear-cut interpretive school that was later called the school of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, in interpretation, until narrations were transmitted from them, peace be upon them, that were recorded by their companions, thus forming interpretive material based on Qur’anic foundations and sound methods of deduction, especially in what is authentic from these

narrations, and this manuscript that is in our hands is One of the interpretations, one of the most important pillars of its exegetical material, was what was narrated on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, and the People of the House, peace be upon them, as the author – who is one of the notables of the twelfth century AH – collected the reliable narrations that were reported from them, peace be upon them, and mentions them, relying in some of them on those who He was preceded by commentators who transmitted these narrations, and in many cases he brings narrations from them, peace be upon them, that were not reported by those who preceded him.
