Amid the spiritual atmosphere of Ashura mourning and heartfelt devotion to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), Bashar Yasser Al-Hilu Al-Shammari, a PhD student at the College of Islamic Sciences – University of Karbala, took part in commemorating the sacred month of Muharram in the district of Suq al-Shuyukh, Dhi Qar Province – Al-Juwaiber area, as part of the activities of the Umm al-Banin (peace be upon her) procession.
Al-Shammari’s contribution included a series of cultural and religious discussions that blended Hussaini thought with Qur’anic concepts. He shed light on the themes of sacrifice and reform embodied in the uprising of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), recalling the heroic stories of his family and companions in a manner that was both scholarly and spiritual.
This participation reflects the ongoing efforts of postgraduate students at the College of Islamic Sciences to employ their academic expertise in serving the causes of the Islamic nation and delivering the message of Karbala in a contemporary language that touches the heart and enriches religious awareness—affirming that the Hussaini pulpit is inseparable from knowledge and scholarship.
