Department of Qur’anic Sciences and Islamic Education Activates Graduate Seminars in Contemporary Qur’anic Studies

As part of its commitment to enhancing postgraduate academic engagement, the Department of Qur’anic Sciences and Islamic Education at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, has reactivated the graduate seminar program under the course Contemporary Qur’anic Studies, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Mawahib Al-Khatib.

Two graduate students presented their seminars:

  • Durrar Abdullah discussed “Theories of Revelation in Contemporary Qur’anic Studies.”
  • Ibrahim Abdul-Jalil presented “The Historicity of Qur’anic Victory: A Contemporary Analytical Study.”

The session witnessed active participation from graduate students, whose contributions and inquiries enriched the discussion and highlighted key methodological and conceptual aspects of the presented topics.

Dr. Mawahib Al-Khatib concluded the seminar with a scientific summary of the main issues raised during the presentations, providing academic feedback aimed at improving students’ research quality and academic writing skills.

This activity comes within the department’s efforts to empower postgraduate students, enhance their research and critical thinking skills, and prepare them for professional academic engagement at a distinguished scholarly level.
