Title:Head of the Arabic Language Department at the College of Islamic Sciences Participates in a Master’s Thesis Defense on the Detective Plot in the Iraqi Novel

The Head of the Arabic Language Department at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Hazem Fadel Mohammed, participated in the examination committee for the master’s thesis titled “The Detective Plot in the Iraqi Novel”, submitted by graduate student Walaa Alaa Haider at the Department of Arabic Language in the College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Babylon.

The thesis explored how Iraqi novelists employ elements of the detective plot within a local narrative framework that aligns with Iraq’s cultural, political, and social reality. It highlighted that this narrative style in Iraqi literature goes beyond the traditional Western model of the detective novel, offering instead a hybrid structure connected to essential societal issues such as war crimes, terrorism, corruption, and social conflicts.

At the conclusion of the defense, the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Babylon, Professor Dr. Mahmoud Mohammed Hassan Al-Shammari, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the examination committee members and the researcher, wishing them continued success and progress.
