
The President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid, met with the editorial staff of the journal “Contemporary Islamic Studies” at the College of Islamic Sciences, stressing the necessity of adopting rigorous scientific research methodologies in accordance with the academic standards approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in order to enhance the academic quality of university journals and strengthen their scholarly presence.
During his meeting with the journal’s staff, issued by the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala, he emphasized that adherence to sound scientific regulations positively reflects on the quality of research output and enhances the journal’s standing at the local, regional, and international levels, in addition to expanding scholarly and research horizons.
For his part, the Editor-in-Chief of the journal, Professor Dr. Saeed Hamid, stated that “Contemporary Islamic Studies” aspires to be indexed in international scientific databases, noting that the latest issue was released with a new appearance and a profound scholarly vision. He explained that the issue included 23 academic research papers addressing a variety of topics, including critiques of exegetical methodologies, analysis of Qur’anic religious discourse, the nature of doctrinal and jurisprudential conflicts, as well as studies on textual coherence in certain Qur’anic expressions, reflecting the depth of analysis and diversity of scholarly approaches.
“Contemporary Islamic Studies” is a peer-reviewed quarterly academic journal published by the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala. It specializes in publishing contemporary Qur’anic and exegetical studies and seeks to promote rigorous academic research and serve Islamic scholarship.
