Under the auspices of the Deanship of the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala and under the supervision of the Qur’anic Studies Department, the first annual plastic exhibition was held on the occasion of the martyrdom of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) at exactly ten o’clock in the morning on Wednesday 27/4/2022 and on the corridors of the department
In which the students expressed this painful occasion through artistic paintings and plastic works of drawing, calligraphy, arts and some useful books and the biography of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) to show the depth of the great affliction that befell Imam Ali (peace be upon him).
The head of the Qur’anic Studies Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Nazim Al-Mafraji, indicated that these works fall within the extra-curricular activities and that there are many of these voluntary works and initiatives within the department’s annual plan to commemorate the remembrance of the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon him.
In his speech at the opening of the exhibition, the Associate Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Ta’i, stressed the need to support purposeful artistic works whose ideas are inspired by the biography of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon him, and convey the good impact of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him).
He praised the voluntary efforts and initiatives set up by the department, expressing his happiness for organizing such plastic and art exhibitions and investing the talents owned by college students.
It is mentioned that the exhibition, which was attended by a number of teachers and students, won the approval of the participants and considered it a step towards developing the students’ experiences in the artistic and plastic fields, which consolidate the exploits, heritage and calamity of Imam Ali (peace be upon him).
