The Faculty of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala held a PhD dissertation discussion for the student Baha Mahdi Madhloom Dwij, titled “The Light of Guidance and the Unveiling of Precision,” a manuscript of Quranic interpretation by Mulla Muhsin Al-Qazwini.
The study, conducted in the Imam Hussein (PBUH) Hall at the college, highlighted several unique features of this interpretation. These include Al-Qazwini’s refutations of various linguistic and grammatical opinions, providing evidence to distinguish correct from flawed interpretations. His work also engaged in interpretative discussions with prominent scholars from both Islamic schools of thought, such as Al-Tabarsi, Al-Zamakhshari, and Al-Baydawi, analyzing and critiquing their views. Al-Qazwini heavily relied on narrations from the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) in his explanations.
This manuscript was chosen for study to benefit from its knowledge and debates, to introduce researchers and readers to the valuable interpretative efforts of the author, and to shed light on one of the notable figures of the Ahl al-Bayt school in the 12th Hijri century, who authored many works in various sciences and arts, with this interpretation being one of the most prominent.
