College of Islamic Sciences Holds Seminar on Labor Law and Social Security

The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, organized an educational seminar titled “Labor Law and Social Security.” The seminar was presented by faculty member in the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education, Professor Dr. Mutham Hussein Al-Shafie, along with liaison member Assistant Professor Dr. Intidar Jawad Kazem.

The seminar aimed to introduce the Labor Law and Social Security, emphasizing the importance of this law both internationally and locally. It seeks to enhance the well-being of populations and implement measures that ensure access to sufficient resources for a dignified life and health care, while also guaranteeing the rights of the elderly, the sick, and the unemployed.

The seminar highlighted Article 22 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states that everyone as a member of society has the right to social security, encompassing social insurance and services provided by the government or responsible authorities for social security.
