The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala hosted an educational seminar presented by Dr. Jumana Jasim from the College of Law, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences. The seminar was titled “An Introduction to Labor Law and Social Security.”
The event aimed to raise awareness among the college’s staff about the importance of labor law and social security by focusing on several key topics:
- Covered and Excluded Groups: An overview of which groups are protected under the law and which are exempt.
- Updates in the New Law: A discussion of recent amendments to the new labor and social security law.
- Nature of Protection and Legal Recourse: Insights into the types of protections the law offers workers and the processes for legal dispute resolution.
The seminar provided valuable knowledge on workers’ rights and the legal mechanisms that ensure their protection, fostering a more informed and supportive work environment.
