Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Mohammed Hussein Aboud Al-Taie, the Committee for Reviving Islamic Rituals and National Occasions, in collaboration with all departments of the college, organized a celebratory festival on the occasion of the blessed births in the month of Sha’ban, particularly the birth anniversary of Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance).

The festival commenced with a beautiful recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by an academic lecture delivered by His Eminence Dr. Dhulfiqar Adel Al-Moussawi. The lecture emphasized the importance of enhancing university students’ awareness, especially those in the College of Islamic Sciences, about their Imam and his role in various intellectual, social, political, and economic aspects.

The event also featured a poetic recitation by student Thamer Al-Fartousi and the announcement of a Quranic competition for memorization and recitation under the slogan “The Quran is My Identity, Not Just My Hobby.” The competition’s evaluations will take place in mid-Ramadan, with the results announced on the birth anniversary of Imam Al-Hasan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him).

At the conclusion of the festival, outstanding students who actively participated in reviving religious rituals and commemorating the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) were honored, embodying the Imam’s saying: “Revive our cause; may Allah have mercy on those who revive our cause.”
