Introductory Information

This department is one of the important department sin the Faculty of Islamic Science. It was opened in 2011. The reason for opening the department is the urgent need to complete the departments of Sharia and Islamic Science in our college in order to draw an academic path in Islamic studies at the University of Karbala. This also falls within the requirements of the Islamic community in Karbala, and in all Iraq by preparing a moderate staff of teachers of the Koran and Islamic education to overcome the shortage in the intermediate and preparatory school staff. The function of the department is to teach Islamic culture because it is a social scientific necessity for the present and the future. It also prepares a generation of university students who improve the Islamic reality by calling for following the legal content and its evidence from the Holy Koran and Sunnah including the sayings of the Prophet's Progeny (Peace be upon them) and the statement of the truth of the legal text and Islamic thought. After four years of study, the department grants its students a bachelor's degree in Sharia and Islamic Science.
