Abstract

This thesis is the second session of the persuasive studies in Nahj Albalagha dealing with third chapter of Nahj Albalagha, because of the powerful persuasive words of Imam Ali (pbuh) aiming at attracting and convincing the receiver, consequently changing an idea or belief with another perfect one relying on the lingual means and techniques.
This thesis is classified into an introductory and three chapters, the introduction is organised in two parts dealing the roots of persuasion in the Arabic heritage and the short speech features in Nahj Albalagha. As for the chapters, the first one is The Lingual Persuasion whose topics dealing with the sentence features, links, factors, stairs Orbital . The second chapter topics are stylistic persuasion, ordering, emphasis, repetition, mentioning, questioning and their functions in words. The third chapter is for rhetorical persuasion whose topics are dealing with metaphor, metonymy, simile, figurative language and their persuasive role in words.

The study is marked by its analytic rhetorical style showing the powerful persuasion of words. Among the most important results the study reached is the functions of the persuasion style in words are instructional, moralistic, religious and healthy with basic goals aiming at correcting somebody’s life path, consequently reforming the community.
