The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala organized the annual festival of Al-Zahra (peace be upon her) to promote the concepts of tolerant Islamic culture and noble human values, to support the cultural and intellectual movement of society with the thought and culture of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Bassem Khalil Nayel Al-Saidi, said during his speech on the occasion that it is a matter of joy and pleasure to hold this forum in the College of Islamic Sciences and to remember this great lady who presented the highest and noble meanings of education and noble qualities that contributed greatly to reforming society and drawing a road map for every moderate person who represents religion correct Islamic.

Emphasizing the need to study the biography of Mrs. Zahraa in all educational institutions and to follow these noble qualities and what she left of a great school from which all scientific and religious directions can be benefited, calling on researchers to make their researches an authority in this fragrant biography, as the president of the university bid farewell to students in general and female students in particular To follow this biography and to be a key to our scientific and academic life.
The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Dergham Karim Al-Musawi, said that in conjunction with the birth of the pure friend Fatima Al-Zahra (peace be upon her), the Department of Quranic Studies in the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala held its annual festival on the occasion of the birth of Mrs. Al-Zahra (peace be upon her) entitled (Al-Zahraa is Principle, Steadfastness and Giving) in addition to establishing Charity market to support needy families.

Indicating that the festival aims to promote the concepts of tolerant Islamic culture and noble human values, to support the cultural and intellectual movement of society, with the thought and culture of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and to strengthen the role of educational institutions in spreading authentic Islamic cultural awareness among students, developing their personal, scientific and cultural abilities, and crystallizing the principles and values of Lady Zahra (peace be upon them). Peace be upon her) among female university students in thought and action, and to imitate her behaviour, her worship and her hijab.
The head of the Department of Qur’anic Studies, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Nazim, said that the festival included the establishment of a Qur’anic forum in which a number of reciters of the Holy Qur’an participated, and the opening of the free wall corner to spread the culture and message of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and the opening of a nursery (Fadak al-Zahraa), which contains various types of flowers. And the plants, and the hadith corner that includes hadiths on the virtues of al-Zahra (peace be upon her), in addition to honoring the Fatimids (the female students who follow al-Zahra’), the establishment of a charity market to support the needy families, the opening of a book fair affiliated with the Holy Husayni shrine, and a number of various paragraphs and events.

And the head of the department stated that festivals and cultural and scientific activities that support the educational process constitute one of the most important elements of cultural construction in society, and that the college is keen to make the events it holds a means of cultural and social development.
For his part, a member of the Preparatory Committee, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Rahi Saadoun, said that the college pays great attention to cultural and scientific activities and formulates them in accordance with a spirit based on the civilizational and human heritage of Islam and the consolidation of supreme values, lofty ideals and human dimensions derived from the true religion; Stressing the college’s keenness on students’ involvement in these activities, as it is a complement to the academic process and cultural construction, and an effective means to enhance students’ skills and develop their abilities.
The celebration included honoring a number of professors and students of the department, and presenting lectures and poems that included aspects of the life of Lady Al-Zahra and her impact on the intellectual and social life in Islam, and her pioneering role in rooting the concepts of moderation, rejecting intolerance and intellectual closure, and explaining the bright face of the true religion.
