Abstract

In this thesis, I have sought to study the syntactic analysis in the recitation of ‘Isa ibn ‘Umar (d. 149 AH). The study consists of an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion.

The first chapter focuses on the study of nouns in ‘Isa ibn ‘Umar’s recitation, examining the cases of nominative, accusative, and genitive in his recitation.

The second chapter discusses the recitation of verbs, specifically past and present tense verbs in this recitation.

The third chapter deals with the study of particles in ‘Isa’s recitation. It discusses his approach in reciting broken hamzah “إنّ”, open hamzah “أنّ”, “لام” of command, negation particles “لات” and “لا”, “لكنْ”, “لما”, hamzah of interrogation, and conditional particles, as well as his treatment of the interrogative particle “ما” when preceded by a preposition.

The study concludes with the findings, followed by a list of books that have contributed to and enriched the research. These books include works on Qur’anic exegesis, recitations, the meanings and syntax of the Qur’an, as well as classical Arabic grammar and modern studies used by the researcher, including some theses and academic dissertations.

The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, relying on it throughout the research to ensure the linguistic characteristics of accuracy, scientific rigor, and objectivity.

The documentary method is employed in this study by tracing ‘Isa ibn ‘Umar’s recitation, extrapolating it from recitation books, variant readings, and exegesis works, and compiling them as the documented samples. Then, the relevant readings are examined, analyzed, compared with the well-known recitation, and each is guided, seeking to benefit from the efforts, statements, and opinions of the scholars of the past.
