Abstract

This study aims to highlight the impact of the Holy Quran on the poetry of the companions of Imam Ali (peace be upon him). It seeks to demonstrate the words, structures, Quranic imagery, and stories they incorporated into their poetry. The researcher also aims to explain the Quranic influence on those poems and the reasons why the poets turned to this miraculous book to enrich their verses with its pearls and aesthetic elements. Furthermore, the study explores how the Quran was used to respond to opponents in other Islamic sects.

Following the research objectives, the study consists of an introduction and three chapters. The introduction provides a brief overview of the life of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and his noble companions. The first chapter examines the Quranic references and their influence on the poetic texts of Imam Ali’s companions. The second chapter studies the impact of Quranic imagery in the poetry of the companions, while the third chapter focuses on the influence of the Quranic style in their poetry. The conclusion summarizes the findings, including the significant presence of the divine names in the poetry of Imam Ali’s companions, attributed to their Quranic upbringing, consistent recitation of the Quran, and exploration of its vocabulary and structures.
