Dr. Nahida Jalil Abdul Hassan, a faculty member at the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala, participated in a scientific-cultural symposium organized by the University of Kufa – College of Education for Women – Department of History on the topic of “The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) and the Army: Their Role in Safeguarding National Security.”
In her lecture titled “The Peaceful Impact of the Popular Mobilization: Approaches to National Unity,” she emphasized that Iraqi society gradually perceives the PMF as a historical savior from the potential collapse of the state. This perception has extended to official institutions, with universities, governmental departments, and literary festivals expressing social acceptance of the PMF.
Dr. Nahida highlighted that the reality shaping the PMF’s formation and its capacity to rescue the state from collapse has elevated it to a fundamental pillar of the security system. She emphasized the importance of intellectual and cognitive contributions to Iraqi communities, promoting values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, rejecting extremism, and strengthening social cohesion and citizenship. These efforts aim to enhance the intellectual and cultural landscape of Iraqi society across all sectors.
