Under the patronage of the President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Basim Khalil, Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Professor Dr. Mohammed Hussein Al-Taie, the Women Empowerment Unit at the college, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Department, organized an online workshop on women’s economic empowerment, using Lady Khadija as a model.

The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Huda Abbas Mohsen and Dr. Ahmed Akeed Badr, covering two main axes: the historical axis, which discussed the noble biography of Lady Khadija bint Khuwaylid and her prestigious social and historical status, and the economic axis, which clarified the concept of empowerment and its meaning in Islamic law, especially in the financial and economic aspects.

It also highlighted Lady Khadija’s financial status, her economic thought, and her contribution to both material and spiritual aspects in raising the banner of Islam.
