Islamic Sciences College in Karbala University Holds Scientific Seminar on Rights and Freedoms in the 2005 Iraqi Constitution: Women as a Case Study

The Women’s Affairs Unit at the Islamic Sciences College, Karbala University, organized a scientific seminar titled “Rights and Freedoms in the 2005 Iraqi Constitution: Women as a Case Study” at the Al-Sadiq Al-Amin Hall in the college.

The seminar was presented by Professor Dr. Maytham Hussein Al-Shafei, with moderation by Assistant Professor Khaled Abdul Nabi.

Al-Shafei discussed the constitutional articles addressing women’s issues, gender equality, equal opportunities as a guaranteed right for all Iraqis. He also highlighted women’s rights in political participation and the mechanisms and foundations for representation, emphasizing the fundamental principles and comprehensive framework of the women’s quota system.
