The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala discussed a master’s thesis titled “The Invocation of the Sacred in the Poetry of Dr. Jassim Mohammed Jassim Al-Ajja.”
The thesis by student Sabah Mohsen Aboud aims to explore the influence of invoking the sacred and its impact on the poet’s cultural and intellectual formation. The research seeks to shed light on this phenomenon and how the poet interacts with the sacred in his poetry.
The study concludes that the contemporary poet finds in the invocation of the sacred a safe haven and a latent energy to express the complexities of the modern era. Additionally, the poet occasionally transforms into a critic in some of his poems by invoking ideas and critical theories that have become revered in literary criticism.
