
The College of Islamic Sciences actively participated in the selection tests for the Classical Poetry Festival, organized by the University of Karbala – Student Activities Department / Artistic and Cultural Activities Division, to choose the university’s representatives for the festival.
The tests were conducted in the presence of the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Professor Dr. Mohammed Hussein Aboud Al-Taie, under the supervision of a specialized judging panel comprising a distinguished group of faculty members:
• Prof. Dr. Amjad Hamid Abdullah
• Prof. Dr. Muslim Malik Al-Asadi
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khalid Abdul Nabi Aidan
• Asst. Prof. Dr. Salam Salman Hussein
• Lecturer Ahmed Jabbar Duwail

The tests covered six main criteria to ensure the selection of the most competent students to represent the university:
- The meters and rhythms of the poem.
- Linguistic accuracy.
- The subject of the poem and textual unity.
- Effective presence and literary confidence in recitation.
- Poetic imagery.
- The eloquence of the text and the depth of the subject.
This achievement reflects the College of Islamic Sciences’ commitment to supporting its students’ literary and poetic talents and enhancing their presence in cultural events at the university level.
