Assistant Professor Dr. Saeed Hameed Kadhim, a faculty member in the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, participated in the Babylon Festival for International Cultures through a distinguished critical paper addressing the relationship between modern literature and the challenges of artificial intelligence.
In his presentation, Dr. Saeed highlighted the growing interaction between literature and modern technologies, emphasizing that artificial intelligence is not a substitute for human intelligence, but rather a supporting tool that enhances intellectual capabilities and contributes to the development of knowledge structures. He explained that AI represents a gateway to a new cultural phase characterized by the integration of technological automation and individual autonomy.
He also pointed out that the intersection between literature and artificial intelligence provides fertile ground for cultural interaction and exchange, thereby promoting communication between nations and civilizations. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of leveraging this technological era to craft a contemporary literary discourse that aligns with global transformations, by merging human awareness with modern technologies—leading to the emergence of new and fruitful epistemological relationships.
This academic contribution comes as part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the cultural and intellectual presence of Iraqi universities in local and international forums and to highlight their role in keeping pace with scientific and technological developments in the fields of thought and literature.
