A new book titled “The Comprehensive Gift on Governing and Non-Governing Particles” has been recently published by Al-Sadiq Publishing House in Babil, Iraq. The book is authored by Professor Dr. Dhurgham Kareem Al-Moussawi, a faculty member at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala.

Spanning 590 pages, the book provides a thorough study and analysis of one of the most fundamental components of the Arabic language: the particles—both those that affect grammatical structure and those that do not—which play a central role in shaping linguistic meaning.

In the introduction, Dr. Al-Moussawi emphasizes that the Arabic language is the key to understanding the Holy Qur’an and the noble Sunnah, serving as the most direct path to achieving happiness in this life and the hereafter. He notes that Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) was the first to classify Arabic speech into three principal categories, one of which includes particles.

The author highlights that what distinguishes this work is its comprehensive nature, compiling insights from classical linguistic sources while examining the subtleties of particles independently. The book focuses on elucidating meanings, implications, and syntactic functions, drawing extensively on Qur’anic citations and prophetic traditions where applicable.

This publication serves as a significant scholarly reference for specialists and researchers in Arabic language and linguistics, enriching the Arabic library with an in-depth and comprehensive exploration of a nuanced and vital topic in the field of grammar and philology.
