In a step that reinforces the values of freedom and human dignity, the Human Rights Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala—represented by Assistant Lecturer Salem Mohammed Naima—conducted a field visit to the Political Prisoners Foundation to coordinate a joint effort for the installation of a “Statue of Freedom” within the college premises.
This visit falls within the framework of institutional cooperation between the College of Islamic Sciences and state entities concerned with human rights, with the aim of promoting the values of liberty, justice, and respect for human dignity, as well as enhancing students’ cultural and national awareness.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding technical and logistical support for completing the statue, which symbolizes the suffering and struggle of political prisoners for the sake of the homeland. The college will host this important symbolic artwork, which will stand as a testament to the values that free nations uphold.
The statue is expected to be completed in the near future, becoming a distinctive landmark on campus and a lasting message to future generations about the value of freedom and sacrifice for one’s country.
