Professor Dr. Bushra Hanoun Mohsen Al-Saedi, faculty member at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, has published a new academic book titled “God and Man in the Poetry of the Pioneers – An Epistemological Study,” issued by Samarra Publishing and Distribution House in its first edition (2025).
The book explores the complex relationship between the divine and the human in modern Arabic poetry, particularly in the works of pioneering poets, from an epistemological (knowledge-oriented) perspective that reveals the philosophical and intellectual dimensions embedded in poetic texts.

Dr. Al-Saedi argues that such a study requires deep engagement with symbolism, intellectual trends, and literary schools influencing modern Arab poets. The book examines how pioneering poets responded to socio-political and intellectual upheavals in the Arab world, reflected in their portrayals of God and humanity.
It shows how these poets, in their quest for renewal and rebellion against prevailing norms, expressed existential and mythic visions, offering readers multi-layered interpretive possibilities.
This book enriches academic libraries with a significant contribution in the field of modern literary and critical studies, opening new horizons for researchers and students interested in poetry, thought, and advanced critical approaches.
