
The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology – University of Karbala, organized a memorial ceremony marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, known as the “Leader of the Resistance” (may he rest in peace). The event was attended by a gathering of professors and students.
The ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by Surat Al-Fatiha in tribute to the martyrs, foremost among them the Leader of the Resistance. The Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences then delivered a heartfelt speech highlighting the martyr’s life of struggle and his heroic stances in resisting the Zionist occupation, which made him a symbol of dignity and resistance in the Islamic world.
The event also featured poetic recitations by Dr. Salam Al-Rubaie from the College of Computer Science, expressing pride and loyalty to the martyr’s legacy. This was followed by a lecture from Sheikh Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ashtar entitled “Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah: His Martyrdom as a Compass of Dignity”, which explored the spiritual meaning of martyrdom and its role in reviving the spirit of resistance and steadfastness.
The ceremony concluded with an elegiac poem delivered by Dr. Khalid Abdul-Nabi Al-Asadi, embodying the grief and pride felt at the loss of the leader, affirming that martyrs remain alive in the memory and conscience of the nation.
