Upon the kind invitation of the Prime Minister’s Office / Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Excellence, and under the guidance of the President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid, and the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Professor Dr. Mohammed Hussein Aboud Al-Ta’i, the University of Karbala participated in the Second “Riyada” (Entrepreneurship) Initiative Conference and Exhibition, held at the Baghdad International Fair under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani.
The university was represented in this national event by Lecturer Imad Abdul-Ridha Hameed, a faculty member in the College of Islamic Sciences and a certified trainer in entrepreneurship, along with certified trainers Alaa Abbas Hussein and Maher Hassan Kazem, as part of the university’s commitment to supporting innovation and youth empowerment initiatives.
The participation reflected the University of Karbala’s dedication to promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and creativity among its students through engagement in national programs aimed at enhancing the role of youth in economic and social development.
During the conference, the university showcased a project resulting from the “Riyada” training courses — the “Jusoor Educational E-Platform,” presented by trainee Ali Al-Akbar Hussein. The project received significant appreciation and interest from attendees and participating organizations for its innovative, practical ideas supporting the educational process.
It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister announced during the conference that March 4th would be designated as Iraq’s National Entrepreneurship Day, reaffirming the importance of supporting entrepreneurial and innovative projects in developing the private sector and creating sustainable job opportunities for Iraqi youth.
