The Department of Qur’anic Sciences and Islamic Education at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, organized an academic visit to the Library of Allama Al‑Hilli. A number of the department’s instructors accompanied a group of second‑year morning‑study students, with the aim of familiarizing them with the methods of extracting interpretive information from specialized encyclopedias, explaining scientific research methods, and demonstrating how to benefit from classical and contemporary Tafsir sources.
During the visit, the students were introduced to the most prominent Qur’anic encyclopedias and their scholarly tools. They also learned, through practical application, how indexing systems work, how to trace information, and how to connect Qur’anic verses to the explanations of exegetes and areas of scholarly inference.
This tour contributed to developing the students’ research skills and enhancing their ability to directly interact with sources of Qur’anic knowledge—supporting their academic progress and preparing them to engage in interpretive research with greater skill and deeper insight.
