
On Saturday, 29 November 2025, the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala concluded the activities of the First International Conference on the Heritage of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Ridha (A). The event was organized by the Department of Qur’anic Sciences and Islamic Education, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Husayn, and held in the Khatam al-Anbiya Hall within the Holy Shrine, with a large attendance of professors, researchers, and scholars interested in intellectual and religious studies.
The conference was held under the title:
“A Glimpse from the Sun of Suns, and Breezes from the Land of Tus,”
and adopted as its motto the saying of Imam al-Ridha (A):
“Seek knowledge from its cradle, and take it from its people.”
The closing session included a speech by the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hussein Aboud Al-Ta’i, who praised the efforts of the researchers and the scientific and preparatory committees, affirming that the conference represents an important step toward deepening academic research and reviving authentic Islamic heritage.
The conference recommendations were then presented, emphasizing:
- The need to support and encourage specialized research on the heritage of Imam al-Ridha (A) and expand al-Ridhawiyyat studies in Iraqi universities.
- Strengthening academic cooperation between universities and the holy shrines to produce joint research projects.
- Establishing a database for studies related to Imam al-Ridha (A) to serve as a reference for scholars and researchers.
- Publishing the conference proceedings in a peer-reviewed volume to ensure scientific benefit.
- Encouraging the organization of annual and international conferences dedicated to the heritage of Ahl al-Bayt (A) to support the advancement of scholarly research in the Islamic world.
At the conclusion, participating researchers and committee members were honored in appreciation of their efforts, which contributed to the success of this international academic event.
