As part of the democratic practices adopted by the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala to enhance student participation and responsibility, the Department of Qur’anic Sciences and Islamic Education organized a special event to elect representatives for first-year students for the current academic year.
The event began by welcoming the new students and introducing them to the nature of study in the department, student duties, and the importance of student representation within academic groups to strengthen communication between students and the academic and administrative staff.
The activity included the selection of representatives for each first-year class through a direct and participatory voting process, aimed at reinforcing transparency and active involvement in university life, and enabling students to play their role in supporting the educational process and organizing activities.
The department emphasized that this initiative comes within the college’s vision to promote a culture of dialogue, responsibility, and leadership among students, and to provide an academic environment based on cooperation, commitment, and respect for collective work.
