
The College of Islamic Sciences held a scientific workshop titled “Proposing Contemporary Topics in Islamic Studies for Postgraduate Research,” presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Mawahib Saleh Mahdi, a faculty member in the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education.
During the workshop, Dr. Mawahib discussed a set of contemporary research topics suitable for master’s theses, doctoral dissertations, and studies in various fields of Islamic sciences. The proposed topics included subjects in Arabic language, thought, and creed, as well as contemporary Quranic studies and interdisciplinary research connecting jurisprudence, law, religion, and social customs.
The workshop also addressed the importance of critical analysis of Arab intellectual output and examining modernist studies to produce rigorous critical research that contributes to the development of academic discourse in Islamic sciences.
The session was moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Ayat Abdulrazzaq Al-Salami and attended by a group of master’s and doctoral students from the College of Islamic Sciences, who actively engaged with the presented ideas and expressed great interest in developing their research topics in line with contemporary intellectual trends and academic needs.
