The Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Department at the Ministry of Higher Education has approved the book titled ‘Comparative Literature – Approach and Practice’ by Dr. Hazem Fadel, a prominent faculty member in the Arabic Language Department at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Karbala, as a fundamental curriculum for Islamic Sciences colleges in Iraqi universities.
The book, published by the Academic Book Center in Amman, emphasizes that every study within the framework of comparative literature is essentially a study of authentic human identity that is open to others. This literature encompasses diverse dimensions and issues, accommodating wide-ranging concepts that surpass any other literary conception. It transcends temporal and spatial boundaries, embracing universality while meeting individual needs. It is dominant, capable of assimilation, evolution, and renewal, playing a significant role in the civilizational dialogue among different peoples, thereby reducing the chances of civilizational conflicts and their repercussions. Moreover, it contributes to influencing the personal and societal elements of human beings.
