The College of Islamic Sciences Hosts a Course on Terminological Standards in Quranic Studies

The Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education at the College of Islamic Sciences organized a course on terminological standards in Quranic studies. The course was delivered by Assistant Professor Hassan Abdulhadi Rashid Al-Lami, specializing in Quranic sciences and exegesis.

The aim of the course was to emphasize the importance of accurately understanding jurisprudential, foundational, and Quranic terminologies, while highlighting the necessity of precision in their usage. The course also focused on how to employ these terminologies accurately to avoid confusion and misunderstanding among learners, especially in related fields, thereby enhancing correct comprehension of concepts in scientific disciplines.

The lecturer emphasized that terminologies play a crucial role in understanding interpretative texts (such as methodologies of interpretation) and legal texts (such as jurisprudence and foundational principles). The course was enriched with participant interventions and discussions.
