The Arabic Language Department at the College of Islamic Sciences organized a scholarly debate for fourth-year students as part of the Modern Literature course, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Bushra Hanoun.
The debate focused on the Mahjar poets (Arabic poets who emigrated to the Americas) and their contributions to the renewal of Arabic literature. It highlighted the poets’ innovations in both the form and content of poetry and explored the distinctive poetic trends that characterized their works.
Students actively participated by presenting ideas and discussing how the Mahjar poets influenced the evolution of modern Arabic literature, showcasing a high level of engagement and analytical thought.
