The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala organized a scientific symposium titled “The Impact of Practical Mysticism on the Faithful Woman in Her Social Life – Insights from the Life of Sayida Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her).” The event was attended by a group of professors and students from various disciplines.
The symposium was presented by Assistant Lecturer Hasan Abdul-Hadi Rashid, who explored the concept and essence of mysticism, categorizing it into theoretical and practical branches. The focus was on theoretical mysticism and its influence on the behavior of the faithful woman, referencing the spiritual stations of Sayida Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her) through narrations that highlight her virtues and spiritual rank.
These narrations were linked to practical applications, showing how they can inspire women of faith to embody values of self-discipline and refinement. The discussion emphasized the foundational steps of spiritual progression, such as self-accountability, vigilance, and striving, aiming to purify and adorn the soul through detachment from worldly distractions and cultivation of virtues.
The symposium witnessed significant interaction, with attendees engaging in thoughtful questions and discussions that enriched the session and deepened its impact.
The event concluded with a prayer for the hastened reappearance of Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance) and expressions of gratitude to the participants and organizers for their efforts in making the symposium a success.
