
Under the patronage and supervision of the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Professor Dr. Muhammad Hussein Al-Taie, the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education, in collaboration with the Community Police Directorate, organized a scientific seminar titled “Defamation and Slander Between Sharia and Law: A Study of Rulings and Penalties.”
The seminar aimed to shed light on the phenomenon of defamation and slander, exploring its causes and negative impacts on individuals and society, while presenting legal and Sharia-based solutions to mitigate its effects.
The event featured lectures by Colonel Dr. Alaa Al-Ghazali, Director of the Community Police, and Assistant Lecturer Noor Fadel Al-Jubouri from the department. The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students and was held in the Al-Sadiq Al-Amin (PBUH) Hall.
The seminar concluded with an emphasis on the inviolability of people’s personal secrets as a fundamental right that must not be violated, whether from a religious or legal perspective. It also stressed the importance of raising public awareness about the dangers of defamation and slander, given their harmful effects on social cohesion.
