The College of Islamic Sciences, represented by its Dean, Professor Dr. Muhammad Hussein Abboud Al-Taie, along with its faculty members, staff, and students, extends its deepest condolences to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the entire Islamic nation on the occasion of the passing of Lady Khadijah (peace be upon her):
“She is the mother of Zahra, a pure one whose face shone with light,
By supporting the Chosen One, she attained great heights.
Her wealth she gave for guidance, seeking only God’s delight,
So how could the Prophet’s grief not be profound at her departing sight…”
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said to Lady Khadijah (peace be upon her):
“Indeed, Allah Almighty takes pride in you before His honored angels every day, many times.”
Umm Salama reported that when Lady Khadijah was mentioned, the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) wept and said:
“Khadijah… and where is one like Khadijah?
She believed in me when people disbelieved,
She supported me in establishing the religion of Allah,
And she helped me with her wealth.
Allah Almighty has commanded me to give Khadijah glad tidings of a house in Paradise, made of emeralds, where there will be neither noise nor hardship.”
May Allah magnify our reward and yours as we commemorate the passing of our Lady and Mistress, the supporter of the Messenger and the mother of Al-Batul, the best of the women of the world, Lady Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (peace be upon her).
