The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Karbala held its Fifth International Scientific Conference, with the participation of (55) researchers from (50) universities from Iraq and neighboring countries, to consolidate the culture of openness and civilized dialogue, reject fanaticism, extremism and intellectual isolation, and confront the culture of hatred, extremism and violence.

The President of the University, Prof. Bassem Khalil Al-Saidi, said that Karbala University annually hosts this scientific conference, which aims to build and consolidate the value system of society, and we are honored and happy as we live in this scientific atmosphere by holding the Fifth Annual International Scientific Conference of the College of Islamic Sciences, stressing the need to study Islam and its civilization as a systematic scientific study According to the rules of sober scientific research in line with the greatness of Islam and its scientific status and the greatness of Islamic civilization, which was embodied in the approach of Lady Al-Zahra, peace be upon her.

To that, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Durgham Karim Al-Mousawi, said: The Karbala governorate’s sanctifying environment has added to the university in general and the College of Islamic Sciences in particular an unconventional duty in its academic and scientific practices and in the style of work, as well as the nature of activities and events and methods of formulating them according to a spirit based on The ideological and human heritage of the city, indicating that the organizers of the conference were keen to make the focus of their conference the right approach in the goodness of the nation to correct deviant beliefs and ideas because this axis is of great importance in formulating human behavior and building a civilized environment worthy of him, stressing that rooting and consolidating values ​​in the human being is a necessity and An urgent and irreplaceable need to move him up the ladder of theoretical and practical integration.

The dean added that the conference dealt with axes in doctrinal and intellectual studies, civilization and human studies, as well as Qur’anic and interpretive studies, jurisprudence and fundamentalist studies, linguistic and literary studies, psychological, educational and media studies, to accommodate these axes in all areas of life, and researchers take a large amount of the space of Islamic thought.

Not pointing to the extent of the crises at the social, political, economic and intellectual levels, resulting from the imbalance of the value and social system, stressing that the solution is to return to the orthodox Islamic religion, as it is a religion of supreme values, lofty ideals and human dimensions and a call for balance, moderation, stability and comprehensiveness, meeting the infinite human needs.

For his part, the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Muslim Malik Al-Asadi, said: The conference held under the slogan “Al-Zahra (peace be upon her) is a belief and an approach) discussed the principles of peaceful coexistence in society through the biography of Al-Zahra (peace be upon her) and her approach to addressing the other, as well as the role of the media. And social media, in light of the technological revolution, which removed temporal and spatial barriers between peoples and nations, making peaceful coexistence an urgent necessity, and a fundamental need to generate cooperation and integration between different peoples, dismiss suspicions about Islam, and spread the spirit of tolerance in society.

Noting that the researchers during the conference presented studies and innovative visions and developed mechanisms for defining the parameters of activating the value system.

The conference concluded with the establishment of the Al-Zahra Research Center (PBUH) as an administrative unit whose mission is to introduce the sciences of Al-Zahra, peace be upon her, and to educate her about her approach in belief, thought, science, morals and literature. In addition to holding lectures and workshops, and the scientific conference is at the heart of his work; In addition to the necessity of directing visions and concepts through the adoption of a moderate, unified Islamic discourse on the approach of the Noble Qur’an and the honorable Sunnah of the Prophet, the biography of Lady Al-Zahra (peace be upon him) constitutes a major and important axe of unity, and a source of strength for Muslims, which requires them to adhere to and preserve it, not Especially in light of the current circumstances, which carry with it the most serious types of challenges for Islam and Muslims, the participants recommended adopting the biography of Lady Al-Zahra (peace be upon her) within the school curricula, to follow her example, and to benefit from her biography (peace be upon her) to enhance the role of women in society and in building the family.
